Vertical pole archery competitions or Popinjay archery were popular in an area ranging from the north of France (Nord-Pas-de-Calais)
to Zeeland (The Netherlands) as well as in Flanders and a part of Wallonia.
This sport began to decline during the second half of the XXth century but, nevertheless, a lot of people still like it
and practice it nowadays.
